FULTON, MS – Carleigh Mills (Corinth) pitched seven innings of inspired softball to help lead the Indians to a 5-1 win over No. 3 Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on Friday.

With Coach Andy Kirk missing the games with the passing of his mother, Mills pitched her best game of the season after scattering two hits and allowing one unearned run while striking out six batters to lead the Indians to the Game 1 victory.

The Indians got on the board in the bottom of the first when Alex Brown (Pontotoc), who reached on an error, scored on a one-out double by Mamie Hollenhead (Mathiston) to take a 1-0 lead. ICC put two on the board in the fourth on a RBI double by Meg Sullivan (Springville, AL) and two-out single by Mary Kansas Sullivan (Houston). The Indians added a pair of insurance runs in fifth on a sac bunt by Hollenhead and a single by Meg Sullivan.
