Poplarville, MS - The Indians' bats never woke up in the final game of the day as the Pearl River Wildcats knocked picked up an 8-0 run-rule victory.
ICC only managed four hits in the second game of the day, Bre Harford (Southaven) had a pair of singles, Mary Kansas Sullivan (Houston) added a double, and Alex Brown (Pontotoc) singled to start the game.
Pearl River scored a pair of runs on a double in the first and second innings before adding a RBI single to take a 5-0 lead. The Wildcats final blow came on a two-run homer in the bottom of the third and a RBI triple in the fourth to stun the Indians in five innings.
Sullivan doubled to start the fifth inning and was replaced on the bases by Cori Childs (New Site). Childs advanced to third on a single by Harford, but could not score to extend the game after a strikeout, ground out to the pitcher, and line drive snagged by the second baseman ended the Indians rally.
The loss was the first time the Indians have been run ruled since February 27, 2014, in a 9-0 loss to nationally-ranked Jones County Junior College.
