Indians, Warhawks run out of daylight in 4-4 tie

DECATUR, AL – After seven innings of play, the second game between ICC and Calhoun was called due to darkness with the two teams tied 4-4 on Tuesday.
The Indians raced out to a 4-0 tie before the Warhawks were able to get on the board with a run in the bottom of the second. Calhoun picked up a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth and another in the sixth to tie the game as the sun quickly set in Decatur.
Hannah Williams (Philadelphia) went 2 for 2 with a pair of RBI before leaving the game after being shaken up on an attempt to make a diving catch midway through the game. Alex Brown (Pontotoc) and Meg Sullivan (Alexandria, AL) each added a pair of hits to the Indians eight hits in the game.
Caroline Dickins (Batesville) give up three earned runs and struck out seven while walking three in the no decision after seven innings of work.
ICC will travel to Booneville on Saturday, March 18 to participate in the Tigerfest at Booneville City Park.
