Indians rebound to split with Snead State

FULTON, MS – The No. 8 Indians' bats heated up in the second game of the day to earn a split with a 8-4 win over Snead State (AL) Community College on Monday.

Tied at 2-2, the Indians used a five-run fourth inning to break open the contest and roll to a four-run victory to move to 3-1 on the season.

Meg Sullivan (Springville, AL) went 3 for 3 with a double to push across two runs. Kaitlyn Rhodes (Alexandria, AL) went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBI while Alex Brown (Pontotoc) and Cori Childs (New Site) each added a pair of hits to the Indians 12-hit total.

Caroline Dickins (Batesville) gave up one earned run on three hits with a pair of strikeouts to move to 2-0 on the season. Morgan Barrett (Smithville) gave up two runs on two hits with a strikeout in an inning of work. Grayson Wells (Greenwood) struck out one of three batters faced in an inning of scoreless work.

The Indians will travel to Calhoun (AL) Community College for a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 14.
