FULTON, MS – Itawamba Community College's Mamie Hollenhead was named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Softball Player of the Week in an announcement form the conference Tuesday morning.

The Mathiston native helped the Indians go 5-1 last week by going 12-for-22 (.545) at the plate with 10 RBIs, three doubles, two triples and one home run while scoring seven runs, drawing one walk and picking up three steals.

Hollenhead went 4-for-6 in the Indians doubleheader sweep of rival Northeast Mississippi Community College highlighted by her grand slam in game one.

In the doubleheader split with Meridian Community College, Hollenhead went 3-for-7 with three RBI, and wrapped up the week going 5-for-9 with three RBI during the road sweep of Hinds Community College.

The sophomore third baseman was perfect in the field recording eight putouts, 14 assists and an unassisted double play.

The Indians (17-7-1) will travel to Senatobia Wednesday, March 22 for a MACJC twin bill with Northwest Mississippi Community College starting at 2 p.m.
