Brown, Dickins sweep MACJC weekly honors

Brown, who was named an All-American her performance as a freshman, picked the Player of the Week honor by hitting .667 (4-for-6) with eight RBI, three runs score, three doubles, one steal, one walk and reached base three times by being hit by a pitch in the Indians double-header sweep of Jackson State Community College (TN) Saturday.
The sophomore infielder was 2-for-2 with four RBI, two doubles, one walk, one stolen base and was hit by two pitches in the 11-2 game one win, and went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one double, and one hit by pitch in the 10-4 game two victory.
Dickins played in both games of the Indians sweep Saturday, but earned Pitcher of the Week for her performance in the 10-4 game two victory.
In her first collegiate start, the freshman right handed pitcher, threw six shutout innings while striking out six and allowing only two hits. Dickins also went 1-for-3 and scored two runs in game one.
ICC's home opener that was scheduled for Wednesday has been due to wet field conditions. The make-up date and time will be announced at a later date. The next scheduled date for the Indians is February 14 at Calhoun Community College.
