Former Itawamba Community College softball player Maddy Lukens shined bright on the diamond during the inaugural season of the Converse College softball program.

The sophomore third baseman started in all 40 games and hit a team-best .282 on the season. She led the Valkyries with 124 at-bats, 35 hits, 14 runs scored, three doubles and four stolen bases while finishing third in on-base percentage (.310) and second in slugging percentage (.306).

Lukens, who prepped at Saltillo High School, had a .273 career batting averaging along with a .417 on-base and .417 slugging percentage in her two seasons at ICC.

Converse College's softball team is a Division II program located in Spartanburg, South Carolina and is a member of Conference Carolinas.
