Softball slips to No. 10 in latest NJCAA Softball rankings

FULTON, MS – The ICC softball team slipped to No. 10 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II rankings released on Wednesday.

The Indians (39-10) dropped a 3-2 decision to No. 3 Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (45-4) in the opening round of the playoffs last week before being eliminated from postseason play after a 7-6 loss to No. 10 East Central Community College (43-8) on Tuesday.

Gulf Coast and No. 5 Jones County Junior College (41-6) did not move in this week's rankings while East Central dropped one spot to No. 11. NJCAA Region 23 Tournament host LSU-Eunice remains the nation's top ranked team.

Seven of the Indians' loses were to Top 10 programs while the team's 39 wins set the new mark for most wins in a single season.
