Softball to resume playoff game Tuesday

FULTON, MS – The No. 7 Indians will travel to Ellisville to resume it's MACJC State Softball Tournament elimination game against East Central Community College at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
The game was suspended with the No. 10 Warriors (42-8) at bat in the top of the third with two outs, leading 5-4.
Saturday, East Central took advantage a pair of errors to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning before Addie Thompson (Hamilton) answered with a grand slam in bottom half of the inning to give the Indians (39-9) a 4-1 lead.
The Warriors cashed in on two more ICC errors in the second and another in the third before a home run by Summer Lavender put East Central on top 5-4 before Mother Nature inserted herself into the contest.
The five errors in two and two-thirds of play is the most errors in a game this season by the Indians.
The winner between ICC and East Central will punch its ticket to this weekend's NJCAA Region 23 Tournament hosted by No. 1 LSU-Eunice.
No. 3 Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (44-3) and No. 5 Jones County Junior College (40-6) will face off at 5:00 p.m. in the semifinal round of the winner's bracket. The loser between the two Top 10 teams will take on the winner between the Indians and Warriors at 7:00 p.m.
No times have been officially set for Wednesday's championship round of the tournament.
