Softball to host Southwest in first round of MACJC Playoffs

FULTON, MS – After sweeping Copian-Lincoln Community College on Saturday, the nationally ranked Itawamba Community College softball program had to wait to see who they would face in the opening round of the MACJC Playoffs. Their wait came to end Wednesday morning as it was announced that they will face Southwest Mississippi Community College.
The Indians finished the regular season in third with a 22-6 conference record (37-8 overall) and will host the Lady Bears, who finished 16-12 in conference play and 23-19 overall, in the opening round this weekend.
Game one of the best of three series is set for Saturday April 23 at 3:00 pm and game two for 1:00 pm Sunday, April 24. If necessary, a deciding game three will be played following game two on Sunday.
In their doubleheader on April 3, the No. 7 Indians came away with a split as they won game two 2-1 after dropping game one 4-1 in Summit.
