FULTON, MS – The No. 12 Indians picked up a 6-4 win over Copiah-Lincoln to move into a tie for third place in the conference despite a late rally by the Lady Wolves on Saturday.

Trailing 1-0, the Indians (36-8, 21-6 MACJC) scored five runs in the bottom of the second highlight by a pair of two-run singles by Mary Kansas Sullivan (Houston) and Lane Kennedy (Smithville).

Co-Lin (28-9, 19-6 MACJC) answered with a run in the top of the third and the Indians added an insurance run in the bottom half of the fifth when Taylor Thornton (Carrollton) scored on a single by Kaitlin Bradley (Columbus).

The Lady Wolves sparked a two-out rally to plate a pair of runs in the top of the sixth before Carleigh Mills (Corinth) notched her fourth save of the season with back-to-back strikeouts to end the contest.

Sullivan, Kennedy and Mamie Hollenhead (Mathiston) each had a pair of hits as the Indians tallied seven hits in the win.

Kaitlin McDuffy (Iuka) improved to 15-3 on the year after give up four runs, three earned, on six hits and three walks while striking out two in 5.2 innings.

With the win, the Indians moved into a tie for third place in the conference with Co-Lin.
