ELLISVILLE, MS - When the game fell apart in the bottom of the second inning, the No. 11 Indians never threw in the towel and made the No. 8 Bobcats earn an 11-8 Game 2 victory Friday.

After a pair of errors, the Bobcats (31-6, 20-2 MACJC) scored six unearned runs to take a 7-0 lead the Indians (33-8, 18-6 MACJC) rallied to make it a 9-8 contest after a five-run fifth inning after Addie Thompson (Hamilton) hit a three-run home run before Bree Thompson (Water Valley) added a two-run shot.

Bree Thompson went 2-for-2 with a walk and three RBI.

Jones scored on the Indians' third error of the game and a solo home run to escape the late-game rally to complete the sweep with a three-run victory in Game 2.

Taylor Thornton (Carrollton) scored the first run of the game for the Indians when Alex Brown (Pontotoc) grounded out to third with bases loaded in the third.

Mamie Hollenhead (Mathiston) started the fourth inning with a solo blast to center and Addie Thompson scored on a single by Bree Thompson before the Bobcats took advantage of a miscue on the bases by the Indians to get out of the inning with minimum damage done. 

Carleigh Mills (Corinth) took the loss after giving up nine runs, two earned, on five hits and three walks while striking out two. Cassidy Hardy (Gordo, AL) gave up two earned runs on two hits and two walks in two innings of relief work.

Bre Harford (Southaven) had a pair of singles as the Indians totaled 11 hits in the loss.

The Indians will host Holmes Community College (15-21, 9-15 MACJC) Wednesday for Sophomore Day.
