SUMMIT, MS - The No. 9 Indians dropped a 4-1 decision in the first of two conference games against Southwest Mississippi Community College Sunday.

The Indians (30-6, 15-4 MACJC) only managed five hits with Bre Harford (Southaven) leading the way with a pair of singles.

The Lady Bears (18-16, 11-8) jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a two-run home run by Austin Pruitt in the bottom of the first and pushed across a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth on a pinch-hit double by Emily Tuminello after a two-out error kept the inning for Southwest.

ICC cut the lead in half on a RBI single by Bree Thompson (Water Valley) plated Mamie Hollenhead (Mathiston). A great throw from centerfield cut down the tying run at the plate to end the top of the fourth inning.

The Indians left five runners on base - four in scoring position.

Katlin McDuffy (Iuka) fell to 12-2 on the season after giving up four runs, two earned, on six hits with no walks and one strike out in six innings of work.
