JACKSON, TN – After an extensive rain delay, the Itawamba Community College Lady Indians completed the sweep of Jackson State Community College with a game two victory.

The Lady Indians (32-11, 16-5 MACJC North) were deadlocked in a pitcher's duel with the Lady Generals, but a two run scoring triple by sophomore Laken Shankle (Bruce) propelled them to a 2-0 game two win and the sweep.

With the game scoreless, the Lady Indians put two runners in scoring position in the fifth on a Sheneria Tyes (Baldwyn) double and a Haley Moore (Booneville) triple. Shankle then stepped up and ripped hit a triple to score both Tyes and Moore and give the Lady Indians a 2-0 lead.

Pitchers Katlin McDuffy (Iuka) and Cara Hooper (Caledonia) combined for the three hit shutout to end the regular season.

The Lady Indians will host round one of the MACJC Playoffs with a best of three series with No. 10 Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College starting Friday at 4 p.m.
