FULTON, MS – The postseason awards keep rolling in for the Itawamba Community College softball program with two players earning NJCAA All-Region 23 honors on Friday.

Freshman outfielder Courtney Roberts (Hatley) and sophomore infielder Haley Moore (Booneville) were named All-Region 23 and are the only players from the MACJC North Division represented this season.

Roberts, who was named the Most Valuable Player and Best Offensive Player in the North, hit a team high .420 with 11 doubles, six triples, four home runs and 40 RBI this season and led the Lady Indians in seven different hitting categories. Her standout freshman campaign earned her conference Player of the Week honors twice and national Player of the Week honors in week 11.

Moore, a Mississippi College commit, hit .373 with 10 doubles, three triples, one home run and 21 RBI while spending most of the year in the lead-off spot, and she led the team in steals with 27. The middle infielder, who had a .936 fielding percentage, recorded 81 put outs and 95 assists this season to help her earn the MACJC North All-Division First Team shortstop honor.

Roberts and Moore are now eligible for NJCAA All-American consideration which will be announced later this month.
