Seven Indians named All-North Division

FULTON, MS – Seven members of the 2015 Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Co-North Division Champion Itawamba Community College softball team earned All-North Division team honors when the selections were announced Wednesday.

Freshman centerfielder Courtney Roberts (Hatley) was named the division's Most Valuable Player and Best Offensive Player after batting .420 this season with a .471 on-base percentage and .687 slugging percentage. Roberts, who was named NJCAA Player of the Week in week 11, led the Indians with 40 RBI, 11 doubles, six triples and four home runs in 131 at-bats and picked up 13 stolen bases.

Earning All-North Division First Team honors were sophomore first baseman Arriann Henry (Ecru) and sophomore shortstop Haley Moore (Booneville).

Sophomore pitcher Hannah Johnson (Branson, MO) and sophomore outfielder Laken Shankle (Bruce) were named to the All-North Division Second Team.

The Lady Indians also had two players named All-North Division Honorable Mention in sophomore pitcher Cara Hopper (Caledonia) and sophomore catcher Autumn Bonner (Fayette, AL).
  
In addition to the All-Division accolades, Roberts and Johnson earned MACJC All-State honors.

The Indians finished the 2015 campaign 32-13 to earn a spot in the playoffs for the eighth consecutive season while picking up their fourth straight North Division title.
