SCOOBA, MS – After game one with a late offensive charge in extra innings, the Itawamba Community College Lady Indians' bats remained hot in game two against East Mississippi Community College.

The Lady Indians (25-11, 16-5 MACJC North) scored early and often powering them to a 9-1 run-rule victory and the giving them the doubleheader sweep of the Lady Lions.

Courtney Roberts (Hatley) led the offensive charge in game two going 3-for-4 with two triples and a homerun and accounted for six of the nine Lady Indian runs with five RBIs and one run scored.

Autumn Bonner (Fayette, AL), who went 1-for-1 with a double, and Taylor Thornton (Carrollton) picked up the two other Lady Indian RBIs

The high powered offense made things easy for Katlin McDuffy (Iuka) in the circle. McDuffy picked up her second win of the season as she went three and a third giving hip four hits and one run. 

With the sweep of the Lady Lions, the Lady Indians are in a tight division race with Northwest Mississippi Community College, the Lady Indians will step out of division on Wednesday when they host Jackson State Community College. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
