FULTON, MS – The Itawamba Community College Lady Indians completed the comeback against Holmes Community College in game two on Wednesday with a walk off single from Katrina Wilson (Oxford).

The Lady Indians (22-8, 14-3 MACJC North) overcame an early two run deficit to pick up the walk-off win, 3-2 and complete the sweep of the Lady Bulldogs.

After falling behind, the Lady Indians began to chip away at the 2-0 Lady Bulldog lead when Maddy Lukens (Saltillo) drove in Laken Shankle (Bruce) in the fourth inning on some head's up base running after Lukens bunt base hit. Lukens rounded first to get caught in a rundown that allowed Shankle to score.

In the following frame, the Lady Indians tied the contest on a two out run scoring single by Arriann Henry (Ecru).

The game remained knotted at 2 and it appeared that extra innings were inevitable after two quick outs in the bottom of the seventh. Sophomore Haley Moore (Booneville) kept the game going with a single and Henry reached on a throwing error that sailed into the Lady Indians' dugout.

With two runners in scoring position, Wilson stepped into the batter's box and ripped a single over the short stop to score Moore and give the Lady Indians the walk-off victory.

Sophomore Cara Hopper (Caledonia), who pitched one and two thirds innings and struck out three, picked up the win to improve to 3-4.

The sweep puts the Lady Indians in first of the MACJC North Division with a one game lead over Northwest Community College. However, the Lady Rangers come to Fulton Thursday to battle for the top spot. The doubleheader for North Division supremacy is scheduled for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m and can be watched live on LetsGoICC.com
