FULTON, MS – In a crucial MACJC North Division showdown with Holmes Community College, the Itawamba Community College Lady Indians needed a great performance in the circle and that's what they got from sophomore starter Hannah Johnson (Branson, MO).

Johnson, who is a Harding University signee, went head-to-head with the Lady Bulldogs ace Kassey Ard and both allowed only four hits in the pitcher's duel, but Johnson's complete game shutout led the Lady Indians to the 1-0 game one win.

The Lady Indians (21-8, 13-3 MACJC North) picked up three of their four hits in the second inning that led to the game winning run. Katelynn Downey (Liberty, MO) and Maddy Lukens (Saltillo) hit back-to-back two out singles to set up a scoring opportunity for the Lady Indians

Autumn Bonner (Fayette, AL) took advantage of the runner in scoring position by ripping a single to center to score Downey and give the Lady Indians a one run lead.

The slim lead proved to be enough as Johnson retired 10 consecutive batters to give the Lady Indians the game one victory.

Johnson picked up the win on her fourth complete game of the season and improves to 12-2.
