FULTON, MS – The Lady Indians left five runners in scoring position in their 3-0 Game 1 loss to Northeast on Friday.

ICC (17-8, 9-3 MACJC North) put runners on second and third after one-out singles from Haley Moore (Booneville) and Arriann Henry (Ecru) but a double play off a hard-hit line drive to second ended the threat in the bottom of the first.

Northeast (12-8-1, 7-4 MACJC North) got a two-run double from Haley Christian to take a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning.

Katrina Wilson (Oxford) singled and advance to third on a throwing error, but couldn't do anything with miscue after a routine fly out ended the inning.

Katelynn Downey (Liberty, MO) reached on single and Maddy Lukens (Saltillo) followed with a walk to start the bottom of the fourth before both advanced into scoring position with one out on a sacrifice bunt by Autumn Bonner (Fayette, AL), but once again the Lady Indians failed to cash in on the opportunity.

The Lady Tigers pushed across an insurance run in the top of the sixth to take a 3-0 lead that would hold strong after ICC only managed one hit in the final two innings of play.

Northeast finished the game with six hits – five going for doubles – while ICC scattered five hits in the loss.
