Former Ole Miss Rebel named new assistant softball coach

FULTON, MS – Coach Andy Kirk announced the hiring of former Ole Miss Rebel first baseman Londen Ladner as the Lady Indians' new assistant coach on Wednesday.
"We're very excited about Londen coming on and joining our program," said Kirk. "She's had a stellar career through high school and four excellent years at Ole Miss. She's going to be a great asset for us on the offensive side, the recruiting side, but she also has a great background with strength and conditioning. So we are excited about her being able to take over and get us to the next level."
While at Ole Miss, the Brandon native was named to the Dean's Honor Roll in the Fall of and the SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll in 2011. She earned a spot on the 2012 SEC Honor Roll while being named SEC Player of the Week for her performance against No. 10 Stanford. She led the Rebels in home runs as a sophomore, junior, and senior season.
"Her senior year [Ole Miss] beat Alabama and Florida so she's been on the highest stage there is as far as collegiately and I believe the experiences she's had will be something she can relate to our players with," said Kirk.
Ladner's name is peppered throughout the history of the Ole Mississippi softball program ranking amongst the all-time career leaders at No. 8 in batting average (.294), No. 7 in hits (161), No. 5 in doubles (33), No. 3 in home runs (25), No. 3 in RBI (121), No. 4 in walks (95), No. 4 in total bases (269), No. 5 in slugging percentage (.491), No. 4 in on-base percentage (.417), No. 3 in intentional walks (6), No. 3 in hit by pitch (24), No. 9 in fielding percentage (.979), and No. 4 in putouts (880).

She earned all-state honors all four years of high school, was named Gatorade Player of the Year and The Clarion Ledger Player of the Year as a junior and senior, and helped lead Northwest Rankin to the 2009 Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 5A state championship before graduating with a 4.0 GPA.
She is the daughter of former Southern Miss football player Stewart Ladner and Renee Jones.
