FULTON, MS – Ten members of the 2014 Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) North Division Champion Lady Indians' softball team earned All-North Division team honors when the selections were announced on Monday.

Delta State signee Kory Watterson (Nesbit) was named Best Offensive Player after batting .473 on the year with a .497 on-base percentage and .818 slugging percentage. The sophomore third baseman led the team with 78 hits, 56 RBI, 21 doubles and 12 home runs while only striking out twice in 165 at-bats.

She is the first Lady Indian to be named the Best Offensive Player award since former NJCAA All-American Jessi Patterson (Nettleton) earned the honor as a freshman in 2012.

Hannah Johnson (Branson, MO) was named Best Overall Pitcher after finishing 17-5 with a 2.00 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 129.2 innings pitched and 11 complete games as a freshman.

Johnson is the second-straight Lady Indian pitcher to earn the award after Blue Mountain College signee Rebecca Sloan (Oneonta, AL) earned the award last season.

Earning All-North Division First Team honors was freshman catcher Autumn Bonner (Fayette, AL), sophomore first baseman Emilee Henderson (Burnsville) and sophomore second baseman Catherine Carver (Hernando).

Freshman shortstop Haley Moore (Booneville) and freshman outfielder Cara Hopper (Caledonia) were named to the All-North Division Second Team.

All-North Division Honorable Mention honorees were sophomore pitcher Montana Hawkins (Sulligent, AL), sophomore designated player Ashley Langford (Caledonia) and sophomore outfielder Rachel Elder (Guntown).

Coach Andy Kirk and assistant coaches Cary Simmons and Kami Roberts were named the North Division Coaching Staff of the Year.

The Lady Indians finished the season 37-13 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the MACJC Tournament after winning their third-straight North Division title with a 21-4 record.
