ICC to host MACJC Softball Tournament

FULTON, MS – Itawamba Community College will be the site for the 2014 Mississippi Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Softball Tournament on May 2-4 at the ICC Softball Complex on the Fulton Campus.

The No. 11 Lady Indians (37-11) will meet Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (33-16) at 4:00 p.m. in the opening game of the three-day, double-elimination tournament and No. 2 Jones County Junior College (43-2) and Pearl River Community College (26-16) will close out the day at 6:00 p.m.

The winners from Friday will play at 1:00 p.m. in the first of three games on Saturday. The losers from Friday will play in an elimination game at 3:00 p.m. with the winner playing the loser from the winner's bracket at 5:00 p.m. in the second elimination game of the day.

Sunday's championship game will start at 1:00 p.m. with the if needed game scheduled for 3:00 p.m.

The Lady Indians earned the right to host this year's MACJC Tournament after winning their third-straight MACJC North Division championship and winning their best-of-three series against East Central Community College (33-16).

Tournament t-shirts will be on sale for $15 and admission will be $5 per day.

In addition, ICC will be taking donations at the concession stand throughout the tournament to go towards relief efforts and victims of the tornadoes that moved through Tupelo and other North Mississippi areas on Monday.
