Lady Indians win slugfest over Hinds, 10-7

FULTON, MS - The Lady Indians won a slugfest in Game 1 over Hinds, 10-7, that saw the teams combine for 23 hits with four doubles and four home runs in the Lady Indians' home opener on Sunday.
Kory Watterson (Nesbit) and Emilee Henderson (Burnsville) each hit a home run for the Lady Indians while Catherine Carver (Hernando) went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs and scored a pair of runs.
Haley Moore (Booneville) went 3-for-4 while Heather Dillard (New Albany) went 2-for-3 at the plate.
Cara Hopper (Caldeonia) doubled and singled while Ashley Langford (Caldeonia) added a pair of singles with Laken Shankle (Bruce) adding another single to the Lady Indians' 15 hits.
Kelsey Kesler (Abbeville) picked up the win after giving up one earned run on three hits in relief duty.
