Lady Indians split with Calhoun on Tuesday

DECATUR, AL - The Lady Indians stepped out of division play and split a pair of games with Calhoun Community College on Tuesday.
Game 1 - Lady Indians 5 Calhoun 4
The Lady Indians picked up a pair of runs in the top of the sixth and held off a late rally to pick up a 5-4 Game 1 win over Calhoun.
Kory Watterson (Nesbit) went 3-for-3 with a double, home run, two RBI and three runs scored with Heather Dillard (New Albany), Autumn Bonner (Fayette, AL), Ashley Langford (Caledonia) and Catherine Carver (Hernando) each adding a hit in the win.
Langford and Bonner both doubled for the Lady Indians.
Hannah Johnson (Branson, MO) improved to 7-3 on the season after giving up three earned runs on seven hits and striking out a pair of Calhoun batters.
Cara Hopper (Caledonia) picked up third save when she gave up 1 earned run on 1 hit in 2 innings of work.
Game 2 - Calhoun 7 Lady Indians 5
Hopper hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game 5-5, but Calhoun answered with a walk-off two-run homer in the bottom half of the inning to earn a split with the Lady Indians.
Hopper went 1-for-2 with a walk, a pair of RBIs and a scored two runs.
Carver and Arriann Henry (Ecru) each had a single with Watterson adding a double in the loss.
