MOORHEAD, MS - The Lady Indians charged into first place in the North after combining for 44 hits in their sweep of Mississippi Delta on Monday.

Leadoff batter Heather Dillard (New Albany) went 10-for-11 with two walks, four doubles, seven runs scored and a pair of RBIs on the day.

Game 1 - Lady Indians 26 Mississippi Delta 5 (5 innings)

The Lady Indians wasted little time jumping on the Lady Trojans scoring five runs in the top of the first inning before adding 12 runs in the top of the fifth to invoke the mercy rule in their 26-5 Game 1 victory.

Dillard finished the game 5-of-6 with a walk, double, three runs and a RBI.

Kory Watterson (Nesbit) went 4-for-6 with a walk, four runs scored and four runs batted in with Haley Moore (Booneville), Catherine Carver (Hernando), Rachel Elder (Guntown), Ashley Langford (Caledonia), Cara Hopper (Caledonia) and Arriann Henry (Ecru) each added a pair of hits.

Carver and Langford both had a pair of doubles with Bonner and Moore adding a triple while Henry hit her first collegiate home run. Carver added 7 RBIs with Langford pushing across 4 runs in the win.

Hannah Johnson (Branson, MO) knotched her sixth win of the season giving up 1 earned run on one hit and a walk while striking out four batters in three innings of work.

Game 2 - Lady Indians 23 Mississippi Delta 3 (5 innings)

The Lady used a 10-run fourth inning highlighted by a pair of grand slams from Moore and Langford.

Dillard went 5-for-5 with a walk, three doubles and a RBI, Moore had four hits, Laken Shankle (Bruce) added three hits with Bonner, Elder, Langford and Watterson each adding a pair of hits. 

Moore had eight RBIs and Langford added seven more in Game 2.

Montana Hawkins (Sulligent, AL) improved to 4-3 on the season giving up 1 earned run on five hits and two walks while striking out a batter in three innings of work.
