Henderson's heroics help ICC sweep Holmes

FULTON, MS – The Lady Indians earned their second North Division sweep of the season in dramatic fashion with a pair one-run wins over Holmes Community College on Monday.

Trailing 4-2, the Lady Bulldogs rallied behind a pair of two-run home runs with two outs in the top of the seventh by Kelsey Kelly and Char Gordon to take a 6-4 lead over the Lady Indians.
Heather Dillard (New Albany) led off the bottom half of the inning with a walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch before scoring on a single by Haley Moore (Booneville) mixed with a throwing error by Holmes to cut the deficit to 6-5 with no outs in the inning.
Henderson (Burnsville) finished the rally with a monster two-run shot over the fence in left field to help lift the Lady Indians to the victory. Henderson had a single, three RBI and a run scored to go along with her game-winning home run.
Kory Watterson (Nesbit) hit a two-run home run to give the Lady Indians a 2-0 lead in the first inning before Ashley Langford (Columbus) put ICC up 4-1 with a lead-off home run in the bottom of the fourth.
Moore finished the game 3-for-3 with a walk, three runs and a triple. Watterson went 2-for-3 with a single, home run, two RBI and a run. Cat Carver (Hernando) and Autumn Bonner (Fayette, AL) each had a single in the victory.
Cara Hopper (Caledonia) entered the game in line for the save, but ended up with the win after replacing Hannah Johnson (Branson, MO) in the fifth inning.
Hopper went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles at the plate.
Lady Indians hang on to sweep Holmes with 2-1 Game 2 win
Moore tripled and scored on a single by Henderson and Bonner walked, stole second and scored on a single down the right line by Rachel Elder (Guntown) to give the Lady Indians a 2-0 lead after two complete in Game 2.
Holmes made it a one-run game on a solo home run by Taylor Jordan in the sixth inning and put the tying run on base before Kelsey Kesler (Abberville) entered to sit down the next three batters to earn the save.
Watterson went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles while Henderson, Bonner, Hopper and Elder each added a single to the Lady Indians' seven hit total.
Montana Hawkins (Sulligent, AL) got the win after giving up one run on three hits in six-plus innings of work.
