FULTON, MS – A pair of errors in the fourth proved costly in the Lady Indians' 3-1 loss to Calhoun Community College on Tuesday.
The Lady Warhawks opened up a scoreless game with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth after a pair of throwing errors before taking a 3-0 lead on a squeeze bunt in the sixth inning.
ICC (3-2, 0-0 MACJC North) tried to spark a rally in the bottom of the seventh inning when sophomore second baseman Catherine Carver (Hernando) roped a lead-off home run to make it a 3-1 game.
Sophomore third baseman Kory Watterson (Nesbit) ripped a one-out single to the gap in left, but the rally was cut short after Calhoun induced the Lady Indians into back-to-back pop outs to end the contest.
Sophomore catcher Ashley Langford (Columbus) had the only other hit for the Lady Indians with a single in the bottom of the fifth.
