FULTON, MS – Itawamba Community College head softball coach Andy Kirk announced sophomore pitcher Rebecca Sloan and sophomore shortstop Kami Roberts signed continue their careers as student-athletes at Blue Mountain College.

Sloan finished her final season at ICC with a 15-6 record and 2.00 ERA along with a single-season record of 109 strikeouts, one shutout and a save in 126 innings pitched while posting a .992 fielding percentage in 13 complete games.

The Oneonta, AL native earned Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-State and MACJC North Division Best Pitcher honors while being named MACJC All-State Academic for her performance in the classroom.

She was the first Lady Indian to earn National Fastpitch Coaches Association honors when she was selected to the All-Region South team and earned MACJC All-North honors as a freshman after going 10-3 with 52 strikeouts and finished the year with a 1.34 ERA.

Roberts finished her sophomore season with a .311 batting average to go along with her .375 on-base and .420 slugging percentages. She had 37 hits with seven doubles, one triple and two home runs to total 13 RBI while only striking out six times in 119 at-bats.

The Smithville graduate also earned MACJC All-North First Team and MACJC All-State honors as a freshman after batting .392 with a .459 on-base percentage to go along with her .919 fielding percentage as a third baseman.

The Lady Indians (31-15-1; 18-6 MACJC North) won their second-straight MACJC North Division title to advance to the MACJC State Tournament as one of the top two seeds for the sixth-straight season and make the program's fourth National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 tournament appearance.

Sloan and Roberts follow in the footsteps of former ICC All-American outfielder Kimmy Nicholson (Nettleton) and All-Region 23 pitcher Chelsea Lukens (Saltillo) in signing with the Lady Toppers.
