Sloan earns NFCA All-Region honors

FULTON, MS – Lady Indian sophomore pitcher Rebecca Sloan (Oneonta, AL) continues to make Itawamba Community College softball history as she was named the program's first-ever National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region South team selection for National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II colleges on Tuesday.
Sloan finished the season 15-6 with a 2.00 ERA with a single-season record 109 strikeouts, 13 complete games, one shutout and a save in 126 innings pitched while posting a .992 fielding percentage to also earned Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-State honors and was named MACJC North Division Best Pitcher in her final season at ICC.
Being selected to the NFCA All-Region, Sloan is now eligible to be selected to the All-American team that will be announced on Friday, June 7th.
The 2013 NFCA All-Region squads are comprised of one team of 16 players from each of the three NFCA Regions: East, South and Midwest. The South Region, however, consisted of 19 student-athletes this year due to ties >>> click here to see to complete team.
