FULTON, MS – The ICC Lady Indians held off a late-game rally after taking an early lead to complete the sweep of Gadsden State Community College with a 5-4 Game 2 win on Thursday.

The Lady Indians took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a solo home run by Catherine Carver (Hernando) and when Emilee Henderson (Burnsville), who singled, scored on a single to right by Ashley Camp (Amory).

Carver scored on a double to center by Anna Holley (Columbus) before Lauren Lewis (Mooreville), running for Holley, scored on the eventual game-winning home run by Jessi Patterson (Nettleton).

Gadsden scored on a solo home run in the fourth and a two-run shot in the fifth before Dani Taylor (Myrtle) entered to pick up her second save of the season after holding Gadsden hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Montana Hawkins (Sulligent, AL) got the win allowing four runs on seven hits in five innings of work.

Carver went 2-for-4 at the plate to drive in a run and score two more while Kory Watterson (Nesbit) went 2-for-3 in the win.
