FULTON, MS – The ICC Lady Indians shut the door early on Gadsden State Community College scoring five runs in the first inning en route to a 12-4 victory in five innings on Thursday.

A two-run double by Jessi Patterson (Nettleton), an RBI single by Kory Watterson (Nesbit), an RBI double by Ashley Camp (Amory) and an RBI single by Monica Wade (Florence) in the first inning set the tone early for the Lady Indians.

ICC added three more runs in the third on an RBI single by Taylor Seiler (Calhoun City) and a two-run single by Lauren Lewis (Mooreville) before an RBI single by Camp, a two-run single by Seiler and an bases-loaded walk issued to Catherine Carver (Hernando) gave the Lady Indians a 12-2 advantage going into the fifth inning.

Gadsden added a pair of runs in the top of the fifth before Rebecca Sloan (Woodland, AL) collected her fifth strike out of the game to invoke the 8-run mercy rule.

Patterson had two RBIs on three hits to help Sloan improve to 5-1 on the year after scattering four runs on eight hits with five strike outs and a walk over five innings of work.

Patterson and Camp went 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored, Carver 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored, Watterson 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored, Lewis went 2-for-2 with an RBI, Seiler went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored, Emilee Henderson (Burnsville) 2-for-3 with two runs scored while Monica Wade (Florence) went 3-for-3 with an RBI in the win.
