FULTON, MS – A tight game was decided in the sixth inning as the ICC Lady Indians fell to Jackson State (TN) Community College 8-4 on Tuesday.

Sophomore Jessi Patterson (Nettleton) paced the Lady Indians going 3-for-4, but it was not enough as freshman pitcher Montana Hawkins (Sulligent, AL) was hit with the loss.

Kylie Hand and Kristen Henry teamed up for four hits and six RBIs to help Lindsey Lay get the win for Jackson State.

JSCC took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first on a three-run home run by Henry, but the Lady Indians responded in the bottom of the second when Kory Watterson (Nesbit) and Megan Jones (Raleigh) scored when Monica Wade (Florence) reached on an error.

Jones walked and scored her second run of the day on a single to center by Catherine Carver (Hernando) to tie the game 3-3 in the bottom of the fourth before JSCC retook the lead 4-3 in the top of the fifth.

Patterson belted her seventh home run of the season to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth 4-4, but that would be as close as the Lady Indians would get as JSCC added three runs in the sixth on a two-run home run by Henry and an RBI single by Hand.
