SENATOBIA, MS – The ICC Lady Indians dropped their first North Division game of the season 1-0 to the Northwest Mississippi Community College Lady Rangers despite a great effort from sophomore pitcher Rebecca Sloan.

Sloan (Woodland, AL) threw a complete game giving up two runs, both unearned, on one hit and two walks while striking out five batters in the loss.

"You are suppose to be able to win when your pitcher gives the type of effort Becca gave us today," said ICC head softball coach Andy Kirk. "But at the same time you aren't suppose to win when you perform at the plate we did."

The Lady Rangers scored a pair of runs in the fifth on a double by Lauren Riley and a sacrifice fly by Natalie Smock

"We've got to find a way to give our pitchers some run support," Kirk commented. "It's been our downfall this season, but hopefully our struggles at the plate are behind us so we can start stringing together some hits and start putting some runs on the board."

Jessi Patterson (Nettleton) had a pair of singles and Kory Watterson (Nesbit), Catherine Carver (Hernando) and Lauren Lewis (Mooreville) each had a single in the loss.

The Lady Indians fall to 6-6-1 and suffered their first North Division loss of the season.
