DECATUR, Miss. – The Indians took a 2-1 lead after doubles play, but East Central rallied to take four of six singles matches to pick up a 5-4 win.
Reese Duncan (Pontotoc) and Sergio Garcia-Uruena (Cota, Cundinamarca) defeated Peyton Chaney and Dylan Barnett 8-3 in No. 2 doubles while Hayden Embry (Philadelphia) and Zak Keith (Tupelo) picked up an 8-6 win over Will Ladner and Jake Wofford in No. 3 doubles.
In No. 1 singles Franco Roldan (Buenos Aire, Argentina) beat Ladner 6-0, 6-0 in dominate fashion. Embry completed his perfect day on the court by winning 6-2, 6-2 over Wofford in No. 5 singles.
The Indians will now turn their focus on the MACJC and NJCAA Region 23 tennis tournaments next week in Tupelo.
