Franco Roldan named All-American by ITA

FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College men's tennis standout Franco Roldan was named as an All-American by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) in an announcement this week.

The freshman from Buenos Aires, Argentina won his way to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Tournament and made it to the finals of the and NJCAA Region 23/Mississippi Association of Community and Junior College (MACJC) Tournament.

At the National Tournament, Roldan advanced to the No. 1 singles quarterfinals before falling to the top-seeded player and eventual national champion Marcus Walters. Roldan also advanced to the No. 2 doubles consolation quarterfinals.

To qualify for the national tournament, Roldan battled his way to the finals of the NJCAA Region 23/MACJC Tournament in April.

His standout season earned him the No. 8 ranking in the ITA's National Men's Singles poll.
