No. 20 Indians fall to No. 6 Seminole State, 9-0

FULTON, Miss. – In a match thrown together before Spring Break, the Indians were defeated 9-0 by No. 6 Seminole State College out of Oklahoma on Thursday.

In No. 5 singles, Michael Crotts (New Albany) gave Andrew Parker everything he wanted and then some. Crotts rallied from a 7-5 loss in the opening set to force the match into the tiebreaker with a 6-1 win in the second set. Parker earned a 10-8 win in the tiebreaker to complete the sweep of the Indians.

David Garcia-Perez (Madrid, Spain) dropped a 6-1, 6-4 decision to No. 30 Lachlan Napier in No. 1 singles. Ezra Blissard (Houston) lost to No. 38 Aleksandr Pokusaev 6-2, 6-0 in No. 2 singles play.

In No. 3 singles, Roberto Valadez (New Albany) was defeated by Prince Gbadamosi 6-0, 6-2. Edson Marchant (Haleyville, Ala.) fell to No. 16 Guilherme Dos Santos 6-0, 6-2 in No. 4 singles play. Blake Gregory (Pontotoc) lost to Diego Orduz 6-1, 6-1 in No. 6 singles action.

Garcia-Perez and Marchant dropped the No. 1 doubles match 8-2 to Napier and Dos Santos. Blissard and Crotts fell to Kevin Major and Gbadamosi 8-0 in No. 2 doubles while Gregory Valadez lost to Parker and Pokusaev 8-3 in No. 3 doubles play.

The Indians will be back in action on Friday, March 23 at No. 13 Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
