FULTON, MS - Itawamba Community College tennis standout Mark Robbins recently signed a National Letter of Intent with Blue Mountain College.
This past season, Robbins (New Albany) helped lead the Indians to a seventh place finish in the 2016 Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 Tournament after advancing to the second round of the No. 1 singles bracket and the quarterfinals in No. 1 doubles.
As a freshman, he won the No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles championships to help the Indians win the 2015 MACJC and NJCAA Region 23 titles in Tupelo and earn a spot in the NJCAA National Tournament in Plano, Texas.
In Texas, Robbins made an impressive run, including winning three matches in two days, to capture the No. 5 singles consolation bracket championship.
Robbins reunites with his former high school coach Warner Creekmore, who coached at New Albany High School.
