FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College midfielder Braden Walters has signed to continue his soccer career at Millsaps College.

The Caledonia native served as a key component of ICC's defensive unit, helping anchor the back line in 17 matches this past season. Walters recorded three shots in his sophomore campaign, with two coming in conference play. As a freshman, He recorded one goal with two assists and four points along with four shots.

When talking about his time at ICC, Walters expressed his gratitude towards men's soccer head coach Caryl Vogel and assistant coach Andrew Elkins for helping him grow individually.

"I think I've grown and developed as a player in several different aspects. One big one, I think, is my leadership. That's something that not many people see, but off the field, I feel that my leadership has improved," Walters said. "I made a lot of great friends along with some great memories here at ICC. So I've really enjoyed my past two years here and I've learned a lot about myself."

Coach Vogel spoke highly of Walters and his contributions to the program over the past two years and added that his signing with Millsaps "is a great opportunity" for him.

"Braden has been a huge part of what we've done here the last two years, so we're excited for him to have the chance to continue playing at a high level," Vogel said. "What he brought on the field was great, but what he brings as a human being, as a person, as a student, is even better."

Walters joins the Majors that are a member of both the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III.
