Indians drop 3-1 decision at Southern Union

OPELIKA, Ala. – The Itawamba Community College men's soccer team fell in a 3-1 decision at Southern Union on Friday.

The Bison (2-0-1) struck first in the contest, but ICC (1-2, 0-0 MACCC) quickly answered with an unassisted goal by Will Barber (Kent, England) to tie the match at 1-1 at halftime. In the second half, Southern Union added two more goals enroute to the 3-1 win over the Indians.

Elijah Belk (Oxford), Luke Dearsley (Sydney, Australia), Niclas Schulze (Hoersholm, Denmark) and Barber each had a shot on goal in the match while William Blake (Fulton) recorded four saves.

The Indians will be back home on Sept. 6 when they host Hinds at the ICC Soccer Complex in a nonconference match at 4 p.m.
