Indians defeat Southwest on the road

SUMMIT - The Indians had a goal in both the first and second half to defeat Southwest on the road, 2-1, on Friday.

In the 30th minute, Ian Thomas (Olive Branch) scored the Indians' first goal of the contest off an assist from Hogan Payne (Olive Branch) to give ICC the 1-0 lead going into the halftime break.

Russell Brown (New Orleans, La.) was assisted by Reed Conerly (Tupelo) when he scored the team's second goal with 23 minutes to play. The Bears got their only goal in the 74th minute, which marked the final score at 2-1.

Despite allowing one goal, Christian Mahan (Southaven) recorded three saves in the win.

The Indians are now 8-5-3 overall and 5-2-3 in conference play. ICC will return to the ICC Soccer Complex on Tuesday for the regular season finale against Meridian at 3 p.m. with Sophomore Appreciation Day festivities taking place prior to the start of the match.
