ELLISVILLE - The men's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker to No. 12 Gulf Coast in overtime Friday, 3-2, in the NJCAA Region 23 semifinals.
Daven Sanders (Tupelo) had the first goal in the 27th minute off an assist from Ian Thomas (Olive Branch). After the Bulldogs evened the score in the second half, Thomas made a goal off an assist from Luke Dearsley (Sydney, Australia).
The Indians couldn't keep the momentum as Gulf Coast scored the game-tying goal before the end of regulation and the game-winner midway through overtime.
Gage Lashlee (Olive Branch) and Russell Brown (New Orleans, La.) each had two shot attempts, and Christian Mahan (Southaven) recorded five saves.
The Indians finish the season 10-6-3 overall and 6-2-3 in conference play.
