O'Daniel just the trick in the Indians' win over Meridian

FULTON, Miss. – Clayton O'Daniel (Tupelo) had a hat trick after scoring all three goals in the Indians' 3-2 win over Meridian on Friday.

O'Daniel scored an unassisted goal in the eighth minute to give the Indians the 1-0 advantage. The Eagles found the equalizer seven minutes later, but O'Daniel helped the Indians retake the lead with a goal off an assist from Carson O'Daniel (Tupelo) in the 33rd minute.

O'Daniel scored on an assist from Jalin Boyd (Tupelo) to put the Indians up 3-1 in the 72nd minute. Meridian refused to go away quietly as they made it a 3-2 contest off a penalty kick in the 84th minute, but the Indians held strong to pick up their 10th win of the season.

Alex Box (Amory) had four saves in the win.

Up next for the Indians will be Gulf Coast in the quarterfinals of the MACJC Tournament. The match will be at 2:00 and will also be Sophomore Day for the Indians.
