DECATUR, Miss. – The Indians dropped a 2-1 decision to East Central on Tuesday to leave the door open for Hinds to capture the North Division championship.
The Warriors took a 1-0 advantage when Rashun Ludgood found the back to the net in the 29th minute. The Indians picked up the equalizer in the 35th minute when Irvin Rodriguez (Pelham, Ala.) scored off an assist from Clayton O'Daniel (Tupelo).
Terrell Johnson helped East Central retake the lead, 2-1, in the 48th minute. The Warriors settled in defensively and crowded the box to take shot opportunities away from the Indians and hang on for the 2-1 victory.
The Indians will look to rebound and keep their North Division championship hopes alive against Northwest on Friday.
