Indians explode for seven goals in shutout win at Southwest Miss.

Summit, Miss. - After knocking off the defending conference champions Saturday, the Indians dominated Southwest Mississippi Community College and exploded for seven goals while shutting out the Bears.

The Indians (2-0) scored early and often and Caden Mitchell (Saltillo) netted the first goal of the game at the 11th minute on a header. Eight minutes later, Irvin Rodriguez (Pelham, Ala.) beat the keeper for his second goal of the young season. 

Jalin Boyd (Tupelo) and Lando Nichols (Chelsae, Ala.) added a pair of goals to give the indians a 4-0 advantage at the break.

At the 50th minute, Cade Knight (Saltillo) extended the lead to 5-0, and seconds later, Josh White (Tupelo) gave the Indians a 6-0 advantage. 

Rodriguez rounded out the scoring with his second goal of the contest at the 61st minute, and immediatly following his goal, the game was delayed due to lightening. When play resummed, the game reached the 70th miunute and was called due to the weather.

Alex Box (Amory) and Corbin Martin (Amory) combined in net for the shutout with Box picking up the decision to improve to 2-0.

The Indians will get the first part of the week off, but return to action Friday when they open North Division play on the road aagainst Holmes Community College. The game will be played in Ridgleand and is schedule for 3 p.m.
