Brendan Koehn to continue soccer career at Belhaven

FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College sophomore Brendan Koehn of Amory has signed to continue his soccer and academic career at Belhaven University.

"This is a huge honor to be able to continue at Belhaven," Koehn said. "They have won two national championships in the past, and I'm hoping to be able to make a big impact there."

Koehn finished his career at ICC with 47 points, 20 goals, seven assists, four game winners and is the fourth leading scoring program history. He helped the Indians win the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior College (MACJC) North Division title in 2018 and a share of the division title in 2017.

"Really excited for Brendan," said Coach Mike Sullivan. "He's the type of guy that shows up early, stays late and works really hard. He was great leader for us, and Belhaven is getting a good one."

During his sophomore season, the striker scored a team-high 11 goals, including three game winners, and picked up five assists and a team-high 27 points in 16 games. Koehn, who served as team captain, earned MACJC All-State honors and was named an All-Star.

In his freshman season, Koehn scored nine goals, had two assists, one game winner and 20 points.

"ICC has been great to me," Koehn said. "I've made a ton of friends, the atmosphere, great team environment, and I couldn't have asked for anything better."

Koehn will join the Blazer's next season and is the first Indian since Thomas Blake of Fulton (2017) to sign to Coach Carl Griffith's squad.
