Indians dominate Hinds, 6-1

FULTON, Miss. -  In a battle for MACJC North Division supremacy, the Indians (6-2-0, 4-0-0) scored early and often to pick up a 6-1 win over Hinds (3-2, 2-2) to take over sole possession of first place.

How it Happened

Brendan Koehn (Amory) got things started for the Indians early in the match and after Hinds tied it up, Luan Balestieri(Rio Grande, Brazil) scored on a free kick to put the Tribe up 2-1.

With halftime approaching, Koehn scored his second goal of the match off a header during a corner kick.

Midway through the second half, Jake Kirkpatrick(Amory) beat the keeper to put the Indians up by three, and then Cameron Koehn(Amory) added a goal to extend the lead to 5-1.

Clayton O'Daniel(Tupelo) finished off the match with an unassisted goal to complete the big win.

Koehn scored two goals on four shots on goal and added one assists.

"We knew this game was going to be big for us," said Brendan Koehn. "We knew it was going to be a tough game, but we all came in ready and knew what we needed to do."

"I couldn't be happier we played about as well as we could play," said Coach Mike Sullivan. "We had a good game plan and we executed it almost to perfection. This was another great team effort and I think we're going to be ok moving forward."
