FULTON, Miss. – Luan Balestieri has been recognized by the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) as the Men's Soccer Player of the Week.
Balestieri (Rio Grande, Brazil) scored three goals and added an assist to help the Indians (5-2-0, 3-0-0 MACJC North) go 2-0 on the week and pick up their fifth-straight win of the season with victories over Holmes and Andrew College (Ga.).
The sophomore midfielder started the week scoring a goal and picking up an assist in the Indians' 4-1 win over Holmes on Wednesday before adding a pair of two goals in the Indians' 4-3 double overtime win against Andrew College on Saturday.
Balestieri has four goals and two assists on the season for the Indians.
The Indians are back in action this afternoon in Fulton with a 4:00 North Division match against Hinds. They will step out of division play and be joined by the Lady Indians (5-1-1, 2-1-0 MACJC North) as they host Jones on Wednesday.
