Indians break into win column against The W

FULTON, Miss. – Powered by their defense and a pair of assists from Brian Heredia, the Indians broke into the win column with a 2-0 decision over MUW on Tuesday.

How It Happened

Clayton O'Daniel (Tupelo) scored his second goal of the season off an assists from Brian Heredia (Pelham, Ala.) to give the Indians a 1-0 lead early in the match.

Heredia set up Brendan Koehn (Amory) with his second assist of the match to give the Indians a 2-0 lead at the break.

Brandon Tita-nwa (Olive Branch), Alex Box (Amory) and Preston Mattox (Tupelo) combined for the clean sheet. Mattox made two saves in 30 minutes in net.

Heredia had a pair of assists to help the Indians pick up their first win of the season.

"I thought we played really well in the first half," said Coach Mike Sullivan. "We had some great chances and we were able to score a couple of goals. The second half wasn't as good, but we're still in that learning curve. We're still trying to get better every game and it's nice to get in the win column."
