Sonic Star of the Game

Clayton O'Daniel (Tupelo)

O'Daniel scored his first collegiate goal midway through the first half.

"I felt like once Clayton scored it really helped to loosen us up as a team," said Coach Mike Sullivan. "It allowed us to play a little more aggressive defensively and everyone seemed to gain a little more confidence throughout the game."

Renasant Bank Reaction

"It was a great game for us," Sullivan said after the match. "It was nice to play against somebody other than ourselves. I think the guys responded really well... we got to see a lot of good things out of some of our newer guys."

"All around defensive, from the backline to our midfield did a great job for most of the game. I think we are really buying into what we want to do defensively. All three of the keepers did a great job. Each of them had a save and everybody played 30 minutes. I felt like everybody showed out pretty well."

Up Next: The Indians will join the Lady Indians in hosting their annual Meet the Indians event on Saturday before opening the regular season on Wednesday at Pearl River.
